Dr. Aggeliki Sgora is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Digital Media and Communication at the Ionian University, since July 2019. From January 2018 to July 2019 she was Vice President for the electronic communications sector of the Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT). During this period she is was also an Alternate Member of the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) Board from EETT, as well as, a Member of the BEREC Office Management Committee from EETT.

From November 2015 to March 2017, she worked as a Special Scientist at the General Secretariat for Media and Communication and during the period March-November 2017, as a Special Advisor at the Ministry of Digital Policy, Telecommunications and Media.

Since 2009, she has developed research activity in the field of wireless networks, distributed computing and telecommunication systems. Her research interests are mainly in the areas of Quality of Service (QoS) Experience (QoE), Resource Management, High Performance Computing, as well as Software Defined Networking (SDN). Dr. Aggeliki Sgora has published more than 45 journals papers and refereed conferences papers, and she has more than 800 cross-references to her work (Resource: Scholar Google). She has also presented her research activities at international conferences, and has participated as researcher in projects. She has taught in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at Greek universities and Τechnological Educational Institutes (TEI), e.g. TEI of Lamia, TEI of Western Macedonia, University of Piraeus).</p>

She is also serving or has served as member of Technical Program Committee (TPC) for various conferences and workshops, including the IEEE 5G World Forum (2018, 2019, 2020), IEEE ISCC (2011, 2013-2019), IEEE GLOBECOM NGNI (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019). She was an Executive Co-Chair at the 2017 IEEE 5G Thessaloniki Summit, a General Co-Chair at the 2018 IEEE 5G Thessaloniki Summit, as well as member of the Advisor Board of the Global Information Infrastructure and Networking Symposium (GIIS 2018).

Dr. Aggeliki Sgora has been invited as a reviewer in several journals, including IEEE Wireless Communications Magazine, Elsevier Computer Communications, Elsevier Ad Hoc Networks, MPDI Sensors, IEEE Systems Journal etc. She has also been served as session chair, special session organizer, panelist, moderator for many conferences and events, e.g. Session Chair at the 2018 IEEE 5G Thessaloniki Summit, Special Session Organizer of the “Res-SDN: Research challenges of SDN in wireless networks and cloud infrastructures” (IISA 2016), Moderator at ITU “Towards 5G Enabled Gigabit Society” Event (2018) etc.

Dr. Aggeliki Sgora is a graduate of the Department of Mathematics from the University of the Aegean and holds a Master from the University of the Aegean, specializing in technologies and management of information and communication systems. In 2009, she completed her PhD on “QoS provision and resource allocation in contemporary wireless networks”, at the University of the Aegean. Her PhD, and part of her post-doctoral research, have been funded by the European Union (ERCIM Marie Curie Postdoc Fellowship Program, 2013) and the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (PENED 2003, Excellence II 2014). She has worked as a post-doctoral student at the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and the University of Piraeus.
