Matina Kiourexidou was born in Thessaloniki and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Digital Media and Communication at Ionian University, with the academic subject “Audiovisual Techniques and Production.” She holds a Ph.D. from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and has conducted doctoral and postdoctoral research in the fields of audiovisual technologies, multimedia, digital design, three-dimensional (3D) modeling, interactive digital applications, artificial intelligence, and virtual and augmented reality technologies.

She has been teaching at the Department of Digital Media and Communication since 2018 and has extensive teaching experience in higher education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Her teaching activities include the fields of multimedia, audiovisual production, digital design, 2D/3D modeling, animation, human-computer interaction, and digital content creation. Her academic and teaching expertise covers the theory, techniques, tools, and methodologies for the design and production of audiovisual and digital content, with an emphasis on video production, photography, computer graphics, animation, and multimedia, as well as their application in contemporary digital and online media.

Her research and professional work focuses on digital design, animation, applications of artificial intelligence in the creation and management of digital content, digital museums, interactive applications, as well as the digital recording and documentation of cultural heritage. She has published a significant number of scientific papers in international journals and conferences and has authored chapters in edited academic volumes.
