The rapid development of e-commerce and the provision of electronic communications services, mainly through the Internet, have been the basis for the development of new innovative business models that do not exist in traditional trade. The course teaches the basic principles of economic theory but focuses on Internet-based business models. In this way, the practical application of these principles to innovative business models that are mainly used on the Internet and digital media becomes visible. Value chains are analyzed and how they affect the economic indicators of companies operating through the Internet and digital media.
The aim of the course is to understand the basic principles of economic theory and the impact of the Internet on the economic environment. In the course, case studies are presented in order to better understand the theoretical framework.
Upon successful completion of the course students will:
- Know the basic economic concepts.
- Understand how Communication Information Technology (ICT) and its impact on economic, social and political activity.
- Analyze and evaluate the effects and impacts of ICT on both micro and macroeconomic levels.
- Understand the changes in the digital economy and their contribution to business.
