This course is based on applying the principles of Business Administration in digital business and entrepreneurship. Therefore, it focuses on the design of a Business Plan for the construction, organization and operation of a digital enterprise.
As the objective purpose of the course is understanding digital reality it further specializes the principles of management in the contexts of information technology and digital communications.
More specifically, it focuses on Management Information Systems (MIS) and business process management systems such as modeling, redesign, workflow and optimization.
The course focuses in Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP), ie, the characteristics, architecture, operational processes and problems of ERPss in digital business, emphasizing in aspects such as strategic financial information analysis, business models on the Internet, e-commerce, and m-commerce, electronic payment systems and all this through a plethora of case studies. Moreover, the course focuses on adaptation of traditional techniques of strategic management, operations management and human resources to the complex landscape of Digital Entrepreneurship.
The course focuses on start-ups, funding schemes and options and their importance for economic growth. Examples and case studies analysis for Greece are provided. In the context of teamwork students are challenged to create a virtual start-up.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to know:
- New models of entrepreneurship using digital media.
- Creating Digital Enterprises.
