Ο Γεράσιμος Σταματελάτος είναι Πληροφορικός, υπ. διδάκτωρ στο ΕΚΠΑ με Μεταπτυχιακό Δίπλωμα (Συστήματα Επικοινωνιών και Δίκτυα) και Πτυχίο Πληροφορικής από το Τμήμα Πληροφορικής και Επικοινωνιών του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών (ΕΚΠΑ). Από το 2004 έως το 2017 υπήρξε Ερευνητής στο ΕΚΠΑ και συμμετείχε σε 10+ ευρωπαϊκά προγράμματα έρευνας και καινοτομίας σε τομείς όπως ασφάλεια και προστασία προσωπικών δεδομένων (H2020 Privacy Flag), Συστήματα Τηλεπικοινωνιών 5ης Γενιάς (FP7 METIS), e-health (Η2020 LiveCity), Δημιουργικές Βιομηχανίες και Living Labs (FP7 SPECIFI), Αυτόνομα συστήματα τηλεπικοινωνιών (FP7 UniverSelf), Smart Objects – Energy Efficiency (FP7 CONSERN) κ.α. Έχει υπάρξει Designtated Representative του ΕΚΠΑ σε διεθνείς και ευρωπαϊκούς οργανισμούς προτυποποίησης (IEEE 1900.4 Working Group on Architectural Building Blocks Enabling Network-Device Distributed Decision Making for Optimized Radio Resource Usage in Heterogeneous Wireless Access Networks, ETSI RRS Working Group on Reconfigurable Radio Systems). Από το 2017 είναι Research & Innovation Leader εστιάζοντας σε έρευνα και καινοτομία σε τομείς cyber security και eHealth. Τα προσωπικά του ερευνητικά ενδιαφέροντα περιλαμβάνουν διαχείριση δικτύων, αυτόνομα συστήματα επικοινωνιών, Internet of Things, system architectures, information and data models, cyber security and privacy.
