Η Αναστασία Κατσαουνίδου είναι Επίκουρη Καθηγήτρια στο Τμήμα Ψηφιακών Μέσων και Επικοινωνίας της Σχολής Επιστήμης της Πληροφορίας και Πληροφορικής του Ιονίου Πανεπιστημίου. Έλαβε το δίπλωμα διδακτορικών σπουδών της από το Τμήμα Δημοσιογραφίας και Μέσων Μαζικής Επικοινωνίας του Αριστοτελείου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης (ΑΠΘ). Η διδακτορική της διατριβή ασχολείται με τα «Διαδραστικά και συνεργατικά περιβάλλοντα για την υποστήριξη του ελέγχου αυθεντικότητας ψηφιακού περιεχομένου», και υποστηρίχθηκε από το Ίδρυμα Κρατικών Υποτροφιών (ΙΚΥ). Έχει εργαστεί ως ερευνήτρια δημοσιογράφος (fact-checker) στον οργανισμό ελέγχου γεγονότων «Ellinika Hoaxes» .

 

Η Αναστασία Κατσαουνίδου, αποφοίτησε από το Τμήμα Πολιτικών Επιστημών του ΑΠΘ και ολοκλήρωσε το Πρόγραμμα Μεταπτυχιακών Σπουδών «Δημοσιογραφία και Νέα Μέσα» στο Τμήμα Δημοσιογραφίας και Μέσων Μαζικής Επικοινωνίας του ΑΠΘ. Μετά την ολοκλήρωση των διδακτορικών σπουδών της, διεξήγαγε μεταδιδακτορική έρευνα στη Σχολή Επικοινωνίας και Μέσων Μαζικής Ενημέρωσης του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών με την υποστήριξη του ΕΛΙΔΕΚ. Η εξειδίκευσή της επικεντρώνεται στους παράγοντες που οδηγούν το οικοσύστημα των μέσων σε απορρύθμιση. Ερευνά την παραπληροφόρηση, τις αντιδεοντολογικές δημοσιογραφικές πρακτικές και τη δημοσιογραφία του τραύματος στην νέα ψηφιακή πραγματικότητα. Ο πυρήνας των ερευνητικών της ενδιαφερόντων είναι η αξιολόγηση των διαθέσιμων προσεγγίσεων και η πρόταση κατάλληλων και βιώσιμων λύσεων που μπορούν να χρησιμοποιηθούν από δημοσιογράφους, ειδικούς των μέσων, διαφημιστές, πλατφόρμες κοινωνικών μέσων και το κοινό για την εύρυθμη λειτουργία του σύγχρονου οικοσυστήματος των μέσων. Είναι μία από τους συγγραφείς του βιβλίου «Cross-Media Authentication and Verification: Emerging Research and Opportunities» που έχει εκδοθεί από τον εκδοτικό οίκο IGI. Το έργο της έχει δημοσιευθεί σε περιοδικά όπως το Heliyon του εκδοτικού οίκου Elsevier, το Journalism του εκδοτικού οίκου SAGE, το Education Sciences του εκδοτικού οίκου MDPI.
