Objectives - Learning Results:

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • They design a digital composition using learning criteria
  • They develop sophisticated and innovative lesson plans on subjects of their choice
  • They manage collections of lesson plans
  • They manage versioning, so that the final version of each project has emerged through multiple experiential feedbacks
  • They use and develop new communication media for education
  • They understand and experiment with modern learning standards, based on modern forms of digital communication
  • To take into account the age stratification and to adapt their planning to the special conditions of the course
  • They develop and use educational models of learning and evaluation of the educational outcome
Syllabus:

The role of modern digital means of communication in teaching and learning is a key factor both in the educational process during the course in the classroom and in distance education. The course aims at the theoretical and practical study of digital media for educational purposes as well as research into new educational media. The aim is to acquire knowledge and develop skills related to the digital representation of image, sound and video as well as their processing to support the teaching-learning process. It is a given that there are many digital applications that upgrade the educational process and promote e-learning such as multimedia interactive applications for learning scientific subjects, intelligent tutoring systems, adaptive hypermedia (Adaptive Hypermedia), learning management systems (LMS), virtual worlds, three-dimensional representations (3D), etc.

Grading and Evaluation Methods:

Students are evaluated as follows:

  • First laboratory exercise (written assignment), 30%
  • Second laboratory exercise (written paper and public presentation), 40%
  • Final Exam (Essay Development Questions and Multiple Choice Questions), 30%
